“Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.” — Mark Twain
So true is Mr. Twain’s statement. It really is a case of mind over matter as we get older. The older I get the more I don’t mind the way the way things turn out. I’m developing an awareness towards how I react to things. Things that used to upset me simply don’t matter anymore. The importance of events and outcomes is not as strong as it was when I was twenty, thirty, forty, or even fifty years old.
If you are looking in a mirror and seeing stress and anxiety staring back at you, lighten up!
Don’t place so much importance on life’s everyday mishaps and short-comings. Develop an awareness of how you feel when things aren’t quite right in your world. Ask yourself if it’s all that important in the grand scheme of things.
Namaste,
Dave
