Mind Over Matter As We Get Older

“Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.” — Mark Twain

So true is Mr. Twain’s statement. It really is a case of mind over matter as we get older. The older I get the more I don’t mind the way the way things turn out. I’m developing an awareness towards how I react to things. Things that used to upset me simply don’t matter anymore. The importance of events and outcomes is not as strong as it was when I was twenty, thirty, forty, or even fifty years old.

If you are looking in a mirror and seeing stress and anxiety staring back at you, lighten up!

Life is Good!

Don’t place so much importance on life’s everyday mishaps and short-comings. Develop an awareness of how you feel when things aren’t quite right in your world. Ask yourself if it’s all that important in the grand scheme of things.

Namaste: I honor the place in you in which the entire universe dwells. I honor the place in you which is of love, of truth, of light, and of peace. When you are in that place and I am in that place in me, we are one.

Hello world!

“We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us. The old skin has to be shed before the new one can come.” —  Joseph Campbell

Hello World……………..Again!

Years ago, I launched The Selfless Advantage. Things were going well. I posted dozens of inspiring quotes, hoping to give someone a lift to their day. At it’s core, The Selfless Advantage’s main idea was that “Your Basket Must Be Emptied Before It Can Be Filled”. One needs to give away good things, without expecting anything in return. When you try to live life with a spirit of giving and by not expecting anything in return, unexpected good things seem to show up at just the right time.

So, I’m just living life, thinking positive and then it happened. Through a combination of human error and a momentary breakdown of technology, all was lost. The quotes, the ideas, the thoughts, the inspiration. All forever scattered across the universe.

Talk about dumping over the basket! What would I do now? Looking at an empty domain name and ideas still in my head, there was only one thing that would make sense. It was time to start down a new path.

A fresh install of WordPress and I’ve started over. And just as I restart this blog, it seems ironic to me that one of the first quotes I come across was this particular quote from Joseph Campbell.

Perhaps the old Selfless Advantage wasn’t the right “skin” for me. Maybe it was time to get rid of those thoughts (empty out my basket) and ready myself for new ones. Ready myself for a new life. Ready my basket for refilling!

Life is forever changing. Are you ready for change? Your cannot hold any good thing too close for very long.

Remember that to have more to give, you must empty that basket of goodness before it can filled again.

Namaste,
Dave
